FUSION: F-BTX

Botox injections are a popular dermatological treatment that temporarily smooths moderate to severe frown lines. The botulinum toxin, which is injected into the skin, blocks the release of the neurotransmitter ACh by cleaving the SNAP-25 protein, preventing the assembly of the SNARE complex. As a result, the nerve signal cannot be relayed, the muscle cannot contract, and it becomes paralyzed. However, such injections need to be reapplied every six months.

F-BTX peptides act on the modulation of muscle contraction by reducing ACh release at the synapse, as it competes for a position in the SNARE complex while also blocking the entrance of calcium ions, which are necessary for vesicle fusion with the membrane.

This is the perfect complement to injections as it can potentiate and maintain the effect of toxin micro-injections for a more extended period. The anti-wrinkle effect of F-BTX + Botox increased by three times compared to only Botox in the frontal region after six months, and it decelerated the reappearance of expression lines in the crow’s feet area.
